First question is where is the intensity. A demo of a defense should look dynamic and real.

This defense will not work. It would never work. No child on the planet could make this work. Never stops amazing me how some of these various defenses make into systems as suitable solutions to a tough situation. Tomorrow I’ll post the Krav Maga Rear Naked Choke Defense. Part of the reason some of the ineffective defenses make it into the system is due to the Sensei (usually a high rank) says to a less experienced and smaller student put me in a rear naked choke and let me figure out how to get out of it. The student is usually smaller, less experienced, and will not put a proper choke on his Sensei due to the respect factor- thus the Sensei designs choked with those parameters in place. With the Krav Maga think tank- the formula is switched. If a woman can make it work against a man, then it will work for everyone. If the weaker can make it work against the strong then a defense works for everyone.

This is Trinity. Great kicks. They can and will get better, but for an 8 year old these kicks are  awesome.

Enjoy the video. Don’t let her sweet looks fool you. You’ve been warned.

This is Jett Garner and Mr. Moulder. This is a flow drill. You start out at a slow to medium pace, and pick the speed up. The idea is to become mindless within the drill. Mr. Moulder is a master at this and I am still learning. To become mindless is quite difficult. This is my current goal. To become mindless while sparring. Towards the end watch for Mr. Moulders excellent spinning back fist, and luckily I delivered a palm strike to the peaches.

Steven Segal has become slightly odd over the years. Or, perhaps he was always a little strange. The one think you can never take away from Segal is the fact that he is truly an excellent martial artist, who just happens to make action films. The list is short for action stars that were truly great martial artists. The list includes Bruce Lee, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Chuck Norris, and Steven Segal. Only these three men fill both criteria of being a legitimate film star and being a great martial artist. Granted Jean Claude Van Damme is a legitimate action star with amazing physical prowess. But, he does not satisfy the great martial artist criteria. Lee, Norris, Li, Chan and Segal were great martial artists that Hollywood found for films. This video reminds us that Segal is still a relevant martial artist. He provides Anderson Silva, the pound for pound greatest fighter in the world, with a lot of techniques in the video that can work both on the street and in the cage of competition.

Great video! I would love to add this drill to the Goju-ryu and krav maga program. But, we have to get better at our roundhouse kicks.

These are two top level goju-ryu black belts in Okinawa. The kicker should rotate is plant/base foot more. Other than that- impressive.
